
Scope of Work for MEP Services
Stage-I, Concept Design Stage
Preliminary design report identifying estimated MEP work power requirement for the proposed scope of work along with basic design concepts and budgetary cost estimate.
Concept Design Stage
b) Preparations of various cost-effective Design alternatives, interacting with Architects and understanding the requirements to arrive at appropriate and optimal solutions.
c) Followings deliverables shall be at the end of this stage.
i) A detailed design report listing out Design Assumptions and Design Approach for MEP systems and other requirements.
ii) Preliminary drawings for proposed engineering designs.
iii) Cost Estimate of the system for review and approval.
iv) Submission of Concept Design Documents & Drawings to the Architects /Client in hard copy for review and approval from the Client in order to conclude the Concept Design Stage.[/rt_list_style]
Stage-2, Design Development Stage
Conclusion of the above stage will ensure completion of the design brief and the Concept Design Stage of the project to proceed with the Design Development Stage.
Design Development Stage
b) Preparations of preliminary design drawings identifying the internal and external services such as size and location of HVAC System, Electrical System, Plumbing System, Fire Fighting System etc.
c) Cost Estimate given above to be fine tuned with an accuracy of 10 percent if required.
d) Submission of the Design Development Stage Drawings and Documents to the Architects / Client in hard copy for review and approval by the Client.[/rt_list_style]
Stage-III, Sanction Stage
Sanction Stage
Preparations of drawings and documents considering into account the requirements of applicable laws, rules, regulations, procedures set by the sanctioning authority.
Assisting the architects/client in filling the documents and drawings (As per the list made available to us) with government/statutory/local/municipal/regulatory authorities having jurisdiction over the project.
Updating the drawings and documents as specified by such authorities and obtaining approval from such authorities.
All plan submission fees and other statutory costs to such authorities shall be paid by the Client. We will assist technically only with the sanctioning authority.
Handing over the drawings and documents to the architect/client in hard copy for submission to various sanctioning authorities.
This stage may come before Stage-I or in between Stage-I & II. Sometimes, this stage does not occur if the liasioning is done properly with the authorities. No deduction in fee shall be applicable due to non-happening of this stage.
Stage-IV, Detailed Design Stage, Tender Information and GFC Drawings
Detailed Design
a) Internal cross-checking of all the calculations done at Concept Design Stage to proceed for the Detailed Design Stage.
b) Preparations of detailed designs and drawings (Tender Specification, Bill of Quantities & GFC Drawings) and details based on relevant codes of practice.
c) Preparations of detailed cost estimates on the basis of unit rates prevailing in the market.
d) Deliverables:
i) A complete set of Engineering services drawings for MEP System marked as Good for Construction (OR).
ii) Detailed Bill of Quantities.
iii) Tender Specifications along with the special conditions of work.
iv) Detailed cost estimates with an accuracy of 5 per cent.
v) Approval on the above documents and drawings from architects/clients.
e) Issue of Tender Specification, BOQ and Drawings to approved MEP Contractor if instructed from client/architect / PMC.
f) Preparation of comparative statement (if instructed from client/architect / PMC) of bids received from the contractor, joint negotiations and recommendation for award to successful contractors.
Stage-V, Construction Stage
Construction Stage
a) Periodic visits to the site as and when required to ensure that the work is being carried out as per his design intent and specifications.
b) Approval of shop drawings and technical submittals submitted by the contractor.
c) Helping the architects/ client / PMC on the interpretation of design details, give his opinion, if required, on contractor’s proposal which may have design implications, testing and commissioning of each system, joint certification of test report from contractors and generally assist the architects/client in quality assurance programs on services work.
d) Certification of the commissioned systems in accordance with the tender design parameters, Bill of Quantities & approved shop drawings.
